Hong Kong Goodies

My younger sister and parents went to HK for chinese new year, and I wrote them a little list of things I wanted. (I would have much rather went myself though!)

Here are some of things they bought back for me:

Magazines of course! I can't read much chinese, but I like to look at the pictures lol.

I've tried this brand of masks before, and I thought they were really good quality even though they're cheap (I think). I don't want to be white, I prefer tanned skin.. but I want brighter skin.

My lolli lolli ooo lollipop - yes my LG lollipop I wanted to use for another sim card.

Velcro clips!

I've read lots about this BeautyTech ice-cream concealer, and wanted to try it. I used it once today and it's like a moussey texture with amazing coverage - so far so good!

Also heard about this exfoliator, it's apparently a number one best seller and I took a look at the website and it says 1 bottle is sold every 20 seconds! I heard about this product first from Bubzbeauty.

Laneige foundation - the top is a brightener.

Laneige multi cleanser and water sleeping pack.. I've used both of these before and I loved them so repurchase!

Missha BB cream.

Hair remover springy thing and a facial cleansing pad.

My sister also got me more Majorlica Majorca mascaras and false lashes, but I forgot to take pictures of them and I'm too lazy to do it!

Can't wait to try these things! ^__^

Models Own

(Purple Grey, Top Turquoise, Beth's Blue, Lemon Meringue, Pastel Pink, Tickled Pink)

Sorry about the crap quality of the photo, I had to use my iPhone because my sister has taken my camera.

Anyway, I've seen these nail varnishes in River Island, magazines and on ASOS. But I always find that in River Island there's not enough colours to choose from - there's only a selected few. I browsed the Models Own website (
www.modelsownit.com) and was surprised at how many colours were available (77 to be precise)- so I had to make an order. On the website you can buy 5 nail varnish and save £3 (£4 per varnish) or buy 5 and save £7 (£3.60 per varnish) which I thought was pretty cheap! Also, on your first purchase you get a free buffer worth £5.

I really love the colours I chose - I've tried 4 so far and they all come out really smoothly with no streaks. Two coats of the colour is all you need for the colour to look bold and pigmented.

I don't usually go for colours like blues and yellows, but since trying them I really like them! Just makes a neutral coloured outfit less boring.

Chanel ''Particuliere'' Nail Varnish

(Image from
www.instyle.co.uk)

First seen on Lily Allen at the Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show. I need this colour in my life!

I fell in love with it all over again after seeing it on Rumi's fashiontoast blog (
www.fashiontoast.com).

Being unsucessful in purchasing Chanel's ''Jade'' nail varnish last season, I'm determined to have ''Particuliere''. It's already sold out in shops and there's a long waiting list, so I'm hoping ebay will make my dream come true - but selling at £30+ it's going to be pretty expensive.

Sleek Palette - The Original

I bought the Sleek original palette the other day, because I love my graphite palette one so much. Here are the colours:

I got bored, and played around with the purple and the bright blue/turquoise, for the look below. I also used the Barry M dazzle dust in no. 59.

Purple on the lid and the turquoise on the lower lash line, with false lashes.

I did my usual face routine (foundation, powder, concealer, eyebrows).

Then primed my eyes with Mac's painterly paint pot.
Put Barry M's dazzle dust all over the lid.
Blended like crazy and used Sleek's purple up to the crease, and in the outer V.
I also used Mac's vanilla eyeshadow for highlight and used it to blend out the shimmer all the way up to my brow bone.

I put Sleek's turquoise along my lower lash line.

Then applied false lashes on the top (Eyelure - 110) and mascara (Majorlica majorca) for the bottom lashes.
Used gel liner (Mac's fluidline - blacktrack) to line the top lid to disguise the join of the false lashes and real ones.
Waterlined and tightlined using Mac's graphblack technakohl.

Used Mac's blushbaby blush and Rimmel's pink blush 006 lipstick.
