Favourite Make-up Gurus

I have been watching make-up gurus on youtube for over a year now, and ever since day one I was hooked! I first started watching panacea81 because I read about her in a magazine, I don't really watch her anymore but that's where it started.

So here's my list of 5 favourites (youtube user names):

1. Ricebunny/MichellePhan. In my eyes the ultimate make-up guru, her videos are just perfection.

2. Fafinettex3

3. Suzit86

4. Lollipop26

5. MakeupByTiffanyD

Of course I watch a lot more gurus, but these are my favourites. Check them out if you haven't already :)

Product Rave: Giorgio Armani Foundation

I've tried loads of different foundations, and always found something wrong with them. But my mum bought me this in Hong Kong, and I absolutely love it! According to the website it's 'a high resistance make-up that is extremely watery and fresh, giving a luminous semi-matte finish that lasts and lasts'.

I can say it really does melt into the skin, like literally. It's really light so you can't feel it on your skin and you can't really notice it on either, although it has medium coverage. I thought, because it was so light, it wouldn't really last very long, but when I do use this I don't have to top up my make-up on my face in the day.

I think the only thing wrong with it is the pump, which is quite annoying because it can give you too much/not enough. Oh, and it's around £30 for 30ml (I think in HK it was $480?) - which is really pricey for a foundation, but it does give a flawless finish without look cakey. The places that sell Giorgio Armani cosmetics in London are places like Selfridges and Westfields - but I think it's worth a try.

Valentine's Gift

My valentine's day gift came through today - another Mac package. Since I couldn't/can't think of anything I really want for valentine's day, and my boyfriend always hears me going on about Mac, what's a better present? :) Of course, I chose what I wanted! So here's what I got:

Mac Spring Colour Forecast Collection

I came across some pictures of the Spring 2010 collection for Mac, and thought I'd share some pictures with you. There's going to be four mini collections in the whole collection - meaning a lot of products! I'm just going to show you the products that I'm looking forward to seeing/buying. :)

Eyeshadow Quad:

Blush Ombre - Vintage Grape:

Blush Ombre - Ripe Peach:

Lipsticks - Colour Me Coral, Fresh Salmon, Rose Maiden, Victorian:

Nail Lacquers - Abalone Shell, Imperial Splendour, Malibu Peach, Galore Pink:

Crushed Metal Pigments, Stacked:

Colours are gorgeous right?! I'm loving the nail lacquers, perfect for spring/summer time. I find that if you like a nail lacquer by Mac you should buy it straight away - well the ones within the limited edition collection - because they sell out SO quickly and you'll regret not buying for the rest of your life! (Personal bad experience with Mac's Cool Reserve that I never got the chance to have >__<).

There are alot more products, but I'm not going to put them all here. Anyway, early March and we'll be able to get our hands on some of these babies!

Kim Kardashian

I LOVE KIM KARDASHIAN - from her clothes, to her hair, to her lifestyle to, of course, her make up. Her trademark is a really natural look, big lashes, nude lips and baby pink cheeks (her cheek bones are amazing).

Just make up you could wear everyday, I love her face!

My boyfriend treated me to my first Mac haul last week at the Mac Pro store in Soho. ^__^

Eyeshadow - Sable
Nail varnish - Light Affair and Nightfall
Cream colour base - Hush
Moisturelush eye cream
Make up wipes
Brushes - 188, 134, 214, 224, 187, 266

Also went Selfridges where I bought Nars blush - Orgasm.

A few days after I went on my own spending spree online where I ordered:

Satin Taupe, Cork, Vanilla, Cranberry, Beauty Marked
Twinks, Bronze, Ricepaper, Coppering, Beautiful Iris
Sable, Espresso, Woodwinked, Antiqued, Creme de Violet

Yes, my first completed palette. I'm going to purchase another palette for the 3 purple shades, because I want to keep this palette for neutrals. I love using the palette, it's so handy. I bought all my eyeshadows in the pan form only so I didn't have to depot them. But, I had one eyeshadow I had to depot myself for the first time. I used videos on youtube to help me and they were very helpful!

Another haul to come, as I just made another online order. :)

Mac Light Affair Nail Lacquer

My favourite nail varnish at the moment.

My nails are super short at the moment because one broke, so I had to cut them all down. But I think this nail varnish suits short nails better anyway.

OPI Drip Dry

I paint my nails at least once a week, and although I love painting them I am really bad at sitting patiently and waiting for them dry. This often leads to me fidgeting and smudging my nails and having to do them all over again.

I finally purchased the OPI Drip Dry Drying Drops (wow, alliteration) and tested them on my nails today. At first I was a little skeptical as the instructions claimed nails would be dry to touch in 60 seconds and completely dry in 5 minutes or less. I applied 4 coats (base, two coats of colour, top coat) and then dropped 1-2 drops on to each nail. I waited around 60 seconds and oh my god I was amazed - my nails were actually ''dry to touch'' then after 5 or so minutes they were perfectly dry and not a smudge in sight.

A total must have for anyone who paints their nails regularly! Although it's a fairly small bottle for £13.50 I will definitely re-purchase when I run out. Also the drops contain Jojoba and Vitamin E soothing and moisturising your cuticles whilst working it's magic, what a bonus!

Korres Jasmine Lip Butter

I purchased this the other day, after reading many reviews about it, and I absolutely love it! It smells of candyfloss and I can't stop putting it on my lips. It has a sheer pink colour when applied and the packaging is just so cute. White and baby pink? What's a better combination, right?!

But I totally recommend this product, it's really worth the £6. I'm addicted to my Vaseline, but I have been reaching for this instead recently. But no way is it ever going to replace the trusty Vaseline.
