Current make up set up

Got a message on tumblr from someone asking to see my make up collection on blogspot.. I really don't have a lot of make up.. So I just thought I'd take a pic of the set up for my make up, palettes, brushes, perfumes and nail varnishes etc..

Favourites right now (part 1)

1. Mac stereo mineralize skinfinish

I keep going for this out of all my blushes right now. Maybe because my skin looks a lot lighter now it's winter, and the stereo rose comes out like a peachy shimmery coral colour and just looks really nice and keeps me from looking like a dead corpse.

2. Soap and glory hand food

This is my saviour! I hate how dry my cuticles can get in the winter, and this makes my hands super smooth. You just need a tiny amount and my hands don't feel all stiff and cracked any more. I have a mini one in my handbag too!

3. Shower comb

Well it's called a shower comb, but because I have really long hair.. After washing it, it gets all tangled up. So I use this comb to comb it through before I dry it.. It takes a while though cos I have so much hair! But more useful than a normal brush, and less painful.

4. Mac sable eyeshadow

My all time favourite eyeshadow. I have been neglecting it lately because I have been using the Urban decay naked palette constantly.. But I have fallen back in love with this again! All over the lid on it's own, or blended out with another shade -either way I love it.

5. Mioggi hex perfector BB cream

I got this from Hong kong in the summer, and I have been trying to salvage it as I probably won't be able to get my hands on it again anytime soon. It's the best BB cream I've used.. It's light, but the coverage is good and it's not greasy at all. As it has been soo cold, I have been using this alot because it hydrates my skin. I believe it's the best BB cream ever!

6. Botanics eye make up remover

Cheap. Quick. Easy. Does what it says.

7. Embryolisse lait-creme concetre

This is soo hydrating. It feels a little greasy when you first put it on, but after you let it soak in for a few minutes my skin feels soo smooth. I been getting a lot of dry skin lately, so I smother my face in this before I sleep and my dry skin is a lot better in the mornings.

8. Forever21 clover necklace

I have a big obsession with four-leaved clovers, and I've always wanted one like Carrie's in Sex and the city 2. My boyfriend bought me this one online, and it was on sale! I can't remember how much it was but I think it was only like £4. I love it!

ELF powder brush

(Sorry it's a little dirty lol)

Anyway, this is the ELF powder brush and I am so so so so SO in love with it. It has a flat top, I use it with my liquid foundation, and it works like a dream. It works how I expected the Mac 188 to work (I was disappointed with how the Mac 188 worked with foundation -streaky).

I put a little bit of foundation on the back of my hand, dab the brush in lightly then buff it on to my face and it blends beautifully.

The only problem would be it's a b***h to wash because it's pretty dense -but it doesn't have any shedding of hairs (amazing). The best thing about
this brush is it costs only £3.50. Out of all my brushes it is the cheapest but also my favourite. I really want to try the flat top Sigma brushes now because this has worked so well.

Topshop armour ring = LOVE

It's really unusual but I have been wanting an armour ring like this for a while. The first one I saw was in Topshop in Westfield, but they only had medium and large sizes left.

Then this one came out recently and my flatmate showed me the link and it is now mine! It sold out within a few days online (I checked every now and then).

The detailing is beautiful, although it's not everyone's style.. I adore it.

Topshop - £14.

Minx nails

I got these minx nails done the other day. I have been wanting them done for a while, and finally got a chance. The process took about an hour, costing 30 at nails inc. The lady basically matched my nail with a sticker, heated the stickers with the light, then stuck them on and smoothed them out. After- she filed the end down so it was sealed at the end.

I was expecting the nails to be perfect smooth, but they weren't. Some of the stickers didn't cover my whole nail, and some had air bubbles. I don't know if it was just the lady that did them who was crap, or if this happens to everyone. She told me minx on my hands wouldn't last very long, but I didn't even last 2 days with them. When she finished my nails I was pretty happy with them, they were different and looked good. But when I looked closer the ends were rough, which was frustrating, and some were bumpy and jagged. I tried filing down the end myself, but that just made it worse because the sticker started to wear out and look messy. I ended up peeling them off after a little over a day! (waste of money!)

I am glad I tried them, but I don't think I'd ever get them done again. The process was long and looked so fiddly, but they didn't last either. Maybe other places do them better and I got a bad experience, but I will be keeping away from them!

Step-by-step look using UD naked palette

An everyday look using the Urban Decay Naked palette.

1. Prime eye with urban decay eyeshadow primer potion.

2. Put toasted up to the crease using any eyeshadow brush.

3. Using a pencil brush (e.g. mac 219) put darkhorse on the outer 2/3s of the lid.

4. Using a clean blending brush (e.g. mac 217), blend out the edges.

5. Using a more dense blending brush (e.g. mac 217) dab a tiny bit of sin on the tip and blend around the edges.

6. Apply virgin as a brow bone highlight.

7. Line the upper lash line using a liquid liner (e.g. Maybelline line definer).

8. You can just use mascara, but I usually use false lashes -so apply the lashes then reapply liquid liner on top. Curl lashes, and apply mascara (e.g. model's own volumising big brush mascara). Tightline waterline using zero.

9. Apply whiskey on the lower lash line.

10. Blend whiskey with a small shader brush (e.g. mac 231) then apply darkhorse on top.

11. Apply mascara to bottom lashes, and voila completed.

Hope you enjoyed. :)

OOTD and UD naked

A quickie trip to town and my super cheap outfit lol.

Cardi - Tescos
Knitted top - Hong Kong
Boots - Asda
Handbag - Louis V
White top - Topshop

And.. This is my new addiction lately, it arrived about a week ago and I haven't used any other eyeshadows since! It has all the colours a daily look needs and darker colours for a nice evening look.

The colours are really pigmented and come out so nicely -a little definitely goes a long way. I especially love the 24/7 eyeliners because they are the colours I use the most. The packaging is sleek and simple. It is good for travelling too, though I'm scared I'll mark the velvet on the outside. It is definitely worth the £27! It's pretty hard to get your hands on, but I got mine on the House of Fraser website.

(Favourite shadows: Darkhorse, Sin, Toasted, Half Baked, Sidecar, Hustle)
